Well today hasn’t been the luckiest, wake up and stick my
head out the window to see if I can get away with wearing shorts, only for a
bird to fly over at the same time and decide to do its business! Apparently that’s meant to be lucky so I
guess we’ll just have to wait and see if I magically become a millionaire in
the next few days. Let’s hope so, because getting pooped on by a bird doesn’t
feel too lucky.
I know a lot of people really don’t like charity shops, car boot sales, eBay and the like but I love them, for me there is nothing better than a little bit of *retro* shopping or even just an opportunity to get something that is a couple of seasons old and that no one else will be wearing. If I like something, the fact it’s from a charity shop won’t stop me. As for eBay I am the last person you would like to get stuck into a bidding war with! The chances of you winning are close to none.
So thought I would share two of my purchases from today.
Firstly is this lace/crochet top which was originally Dorothy Perkins and I’m
pretty sure it’s a few years old, but it was an eBay purchase. In all honesty
the pictures it was listed with made it look awful but I thought I would risk
it for the sake of a couple of pounds. I am unbelievably happy with the result!
Sorry it’s a bit pic heavy but I couldn’t choose between the photos and I
wanted to show how versatile it is! I realised from these pictures how weirdly
I hold the camera!
Secondly, as Sunday had such gorgeous weather, I thought I would take the opportunity to trail round the boot sale! It sounds weird but it’s something I used to do a lot with my parents as a child. I had a bit of a phase as a young teen where I refused to go because it was *uncool* but I’ve fallen in love again.
Although there is a lot of rubbish, I really wonder how
people assume they can sell the likes of a headless china bunny, or a jigsaw
with only half the pieces. There are some real gems dotted around though, and I
absolutely adore trying to find them. This Sunday I only found one thing.
This pair of Tommy Hilfiger shorts cost me £4 and they were
BNWT so I know they would have retailed for A LOT more, I couldn’t find them on
the website for this season, but at a guess I think they would have been around
£50 from the shop. So I was delighted to find them underneath a big pile of
frankly horrible clothes. But it is always worth a bit of a delve.
