Walking in a winter wonderland..

I was having a big reorganize of my blog delete some of my worst posts, and keeping some of the mediocre and  better ones, which to be honest isn't many! But I really wanted to improve the standard of my posts.
I have had a couple of draft posts which I hadn't had the chance to finish and among the realms of unfinished posts I found some photographs I had saved from my February trip to Prague.

Although its ridiculously late I thought I would share some of the photos and experiences from the trip.

Prague was honestly the most beautiful place I have ever seen and It was like being in a fairytale.  I was so glad that we could go after a lot of scavenging for cheap enough flights and accomodation to join the group.

Before the ghost tour. Wrapped in blankets which each of the cafes supplied.
It is hard to put the magic of the city into words and the pictures really do not do it justice.

Among the various activities (ghost tours, site seeing and of course shopping)  there were numerous cups of  to die for hot chocolate- which were literally melted chocolate in a cup.
On the trip we decided to brave a chilling ghost tour around the city centre and underground, We found the ghost tour acted as the perfect start to an evening of ghost stories. Being too scared to sleep really didn't matter because we spent the evenings chatting away.

The shopping in Prague was actually amazing and varied from beautiful little boutiques in side streets  to a big commercial shopping center. I was so happy to see a sephora which I have wanted to visit for years,  however the make up was very similar to that which you would find in a beauty hall in john lewis and to my disappointment they didn't have any sephora favorite kits. My favorite shops were definitely on the small side streets as I love the opportunity to find something unique that no one else will have back home.

Of course we did our fair share of site seeing and being typical  tourists.  One of my favorite activities was a trip up and down the river on a boat playing jazz music. Admitting jazz is not my thing but it was a lovely meal and we got to see a different perspective of the city. The accommodation made the trip even better and I loved the chance to spend time and relax with friends pushing aside the pressures of exams.

I would love the chance to go back to go back to prague even if it was just for the opportunity to taste the scrumptious hot chocolate and eat the deep fried potato on a stick in the cold again.
The group of friends we traveled with.

My grab and go make up bag

I always have a prepacked make up bag; which I can carry in my handbag in case I end up spending the night somewhere unexpectantly or I need to do my make up en-route to somewhere, normally when I end up getting up too late. It has even proved itself useful on a couple of weekends away.Alongside a toothbrush *not in the picture because who doesn't know what a toothbrush looks like?and a selection of other toiletries   including my solid perfume which would have been in the piccie except it has gone walk-about.
I reallystruggled to put the kit together, because I needed make up which could be adapted to any situation it has to be truly multi-purpose. So the products I've chosen are really easy to work with, for almost anything and anywhere.
So whats in the bag? Well here's the list in addition to a little review of each....

MASCARA- Bad gal, from benefit £17.50 Its got a bit grotty from so much use and it truly is water proof, I have well and truly put it to the test and have even worn it when swimming. One of my favorite mascaras the only thing I am not to keen on is the brush.

EYELINER-Extreme felt tip liner by Collection 2000 £2.99 Easy to control, lovely brush and once again it is undeniably  waterproof, its easy to control and with practice can even be applied on the train.

FOUNDATION £3.99 NYC mousse foundation, A cheaper version of Maybelline dream matte mousse. Its not perfect for everyone's skin type but it does its job

PRIMER- NYC primer, £3.49 It's not the best, but for the price I can't really complain. I really prefer That gal and porefessional by benefit,  they really can't be beaten but there a little bit out of my price range for everyday use.

SHINE CONTROL TISSUES- Superdrug- Comes in useful now and again especially in summer. However, I haven't had much use of them so I guess they will be out of the grab and go bag pretty soon.

PALETTE- Soft neutrals my estee lauder. I love this it has a bronzer and four eye shadows. I can't find it on the website but I'm sure it won't be at high street prices. I think the colors are really versatile, even though they didn't photograph well. I would be more than willing to buy this again even though it is a tad bit expensive.

As good as new...

Well today hasn’t been the luckiest, wake up and stick my head out the window to see if I can get away with wearing shorts, only for a bird to fly over at the same time and decide to do its business!  Apparently that’s meant to be lucky so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see if I magically become a millionaire in the next few days. Let’s hope so, because getting pooped on by a bird doesn’t feel too lucky.

I know a lot of people really don’t like charity shops, car boot sales, eBay and the like but I love them, for me there is nothing better than a little bit of *retro* shopping or even just an opportunity to get something that is a couple of seasons old and that no one else will be wearing.I
f I like something, the fact it’s from a charity shop won’t stop me. As for eBay I am the last person you would like to get stuck into a bidding war with! The chances of you winning are close to none.
So thought I would share two of my purchases from today. Firstly is this lace/crochet top which was originally Dorothy Perkins and I’m pretty sure it’s a few years old, but it was an eBay purchase. In all honesty the pictures it was listed with made it look awful but I thought I would risk it for the sake of a couple of pounds. I am unbelievably happy with the result! Sorry it’s a bit pic heavy but I couldn’t choose between the photos and I wanted to show how versatile it is! I realised from these pictures how weirdly I hold the camera!

Secondly, as Sunday had such gorgeous weather, I thought I would take the opportunity to trail round the boot sale! It sounds weird but it’s something I used to do a lot with my parents as a child. I had a bit of a phase as a young teen where I refused to go because it was *uncool* but I’ve fallen in love again.
Although there is a lot of rubbish, I really wonder how people assume they can sell the likes of a headless china bunny, or a jigsaw with only half the pieces. There are some real gems dotted around though, and I absolutely adore trying to find them. This Sunday I only found one thing.
This pair of Tommy Hilfiger shorts cost me £4 and they were BNWT so I know they would have retailed for A LOT more, I couldn’t find them on the website for this season, but at a guess I think they would have been around £50 from the shop. So I was delighted to find them underneath a big pile of frankly horrible clothes. But it is always worth a bit of a delve.

I know that the formatting of this isn't great but I'm still learning!
